E*TRADE acquires Telebanc. Well, damn, it's about time! Not long ago I was complaining that E*Trade was making a big mistake by not acquiring NetB@nk, which has since run up to a price that makes it practically unaffordable for ETrade:

Nice to see them put some $ behind their talk of being a one-stop financial shop. I would venture to say that Telebanc beats the current EGRP/United Missouri Bank relationship. However, Telebanc rates pretty low in surveys of netbanks - check out Gomez advisors for their survey ranking Net Banks: gomez.com
