Ben,

There may be a huge short position but it would not be because of the Market Makers. Dave is too smart to say anything like that. The shorting would come from an investor or investment group with the help of a broker.

It would be done on margin and that is when a short gets into trouble. He either has to continue adding cash to his margin account so he is not called or the broker is force to sell the position at market.

As most margin accounts are leverage 2 or 3 to 1, it gets to be a high stakes situation.

I bring this up again only because people keep referring to Dave says it is the MM's. You are making him look like he does not know what he is talking about.
