I live in Minnesota...

Finally, a third world tester.<g> Seriously, thanks to you and all the others who are willing to pay and report. I may do the same here in San Diego. Notoriously poor pcs and amps coverage with coastal hills and mountains 30 minutes to the west. I agee with the yahoo poster regarding the bias to car use. Local AirTouch store said that they have installed several such kits for QCOM execs for testing purposes. Unlike local Sprint reps (ah, what's Iridium?), everyone at the store knew about GSTRF and the soon to be launched service.

OK Gang, so far we have the following trendsetting, technosavy, pushing the envelope G* pioneers willing to be the eyes and ears of the venturesome G* shareholders in this online community:

Valueman
Jim Parkinson
Mr. Adrenaline
Limtex
JP (our 3rd world rep)

Many thanks for your courage and benevolence.
As I've mentioned in a previous post, Cellstar is the distributor in North America but I've gotten better response from Web page of Air Touch Satellite Services. How many above will be using only in North America?? Sure would be great if some Italians, Argentines, French,
Chinese, etc. would join the party.

In terms of performance measures to consider, can anyone add to the following: voice quality, successful/unsuccessful outbound attempts, successful/unsuccessful inbound attempts, dropped calls, signal strength, pricing, power consumption, billing accuracy, technical support availability/usefulness, and general ease of use.
Boy, sounds like a interview with Consumer Reports.

Seriously, any feedback on the following would be of great value separating the hype from the real. Many thanks to SafetyAgent for passing along initial G* performance feedback from the Yahoo dudes.
Look forward to adding to the list above!!
