>>BSODs.

This is a Plextor CD, not CDR or RW. I bought it from
Jon, figuring I'd give Plextor another try after my
last bad experience (dead drive, heat problems, noisy)
a few years ago. It came with a set of CD utilities,
which, among other things, allow certain settings
to be made (not too useful) and support digital audio
extraction. Seemed amusing, but the BSOD was not very
funny.

These aren't very important utilities if you have
Easy CD creator, which does the extraction as well,
so it's no big deal. But it didn't help Plextor's
stock on my personal opinion spread sheet. Plextor
now has the honor of producing the ONLY software
that has handed me a BSOD on this machine, running
since January. Place of honor <g>. Since I'm never
going to run it again, I hope it keeps that place <gg>.

I wouldn't worry too much if I were you. I seem to
bring out the worst in Plextor, PQ, etc <G>.
