Ali, SW and thread,

Just came over from the QCOM thread where all the stuff about the QWST ARTT deal is explained quite well!!!! Why on earht on QCOM but not very much here I don't really know. SteveG should have stayed...we need him. Officers aren't supposed to walk out on the troops!!!

Still we have to struggle on by ourselves but we will always remember him fondly. Come back Steve things are about to warm up.

Still on a day like today and according to the Yahoo thread tomorrow is d-day for the conversion. I thought there was another six or seven trading days to go but maybe I'm wrong. Hope so.

Now it must be as plain as the nose on your face that WCII is appearing on radar screens all over the World. Take poor old Deutsche Telekom for instance...al dressed up and nobody to go to the party with..ahh didums. And Miss France Telecom, shunned by her long time boyfriend DT and also no one to hang out with.

British Telecom and Cable and Wireless...well I don't think they have the clout to do a deal on their own but others might still think they are big threats and so act on it so they sort of do represent a bit of a threat.

Then there are the Japanese. Well WCII has a deal with quite a big Japanese company so ?????

Now we start to get serious...the US. WCOM, T, FON, QWST, LVLT those are for excitement and the baby bells well a bit more old money and conservative but they also have to get going or shrink.

Things are going to get exciting because BR and NK can probably do very well without any of the above and likely in a year or so be bigger than many of them. Dream? Well it's very possible.

Best regards,

L

Ali - I am thankful that the news is out but a little disappointed that ARTT didn't get more of a premium. I am still underwater on most of my ARTT, at least at this point, but not by much thankfully. I think that those speculating on the Yahoo! thread that there may be more deals coming could be right (deals w/ARTT, that is, and CSCO or whoever else). Who knows? I think that it will continue to bring attention to the sector in general and WCII in particular. Liberty picking up TGNT (or 40% of it) to some extent takes them out as an acquisition target, I believe. Anyway, not a bad day for the 'Star, all in all. With the convert later this week we should be in good shape. I think the convert is probably priced into the stock at this point so we may not get a boost from that, but who knows what other things might be up the sleeve?
