Distributor Discloses Details Of Own PC Line
Computer Reseller News - 06/01/99; 12:00 a.m. ET

Ingram Micro said its unbranded PCs will be named The Everest
Series and the systems will be available in August.

The distributor began building white boxes earlier this year for
resellers through its Frameworks Total Integration Services unit.

The series includes the Everest T3300 with Intel. Pentium III
processors, Everest T2200 with Pentium II processors, and Everest
J1700 with Celeron Processors.

"The Everest Series is not designed to compete with the brand-name
solutions from our OEM partners, but rather with other white-box
providers in the market place," said Doug Antone, Ingram Micro
executive vice president and president of Frameworks. "Ingram Micro
continues to be the leader in system sales with Compaq,
Hewlett-Packard, IBM, and Toshiba. Our commitment to drive their
sales and growth has never been stronger."

Components for The Everest Series include Intel processors,
3Com, modems, and network interface cards, ATI Technologies and
Diamond Multimedia Systems graphics cards, and Turtle Beach
Systems sound cards. The systems come with one-year warranties
that can be extended to three years.

Ingram Micro will continue to offer resellers the option of putting
their own name or brand on white boxes it builds, but specific
commitments are required, the company said
