And the show down after that will be when China puts up a blockade around Taiwan, lobs in a few missiles to show they're serious and dares us to do something about it.

Hi Ramsey - IMHO, there won't be any firework in the renewal of MFN. The GOP is boxed in on this one; the Dems probably has to show some restraints in the hope that it may benefit VP Gore. Therefore, only the ideological wings of both parties, and the Prez wannabes like Mr Bauer, would want to keep it in the front page. On a separate note, while the list of companies may be in rough terrain, not sure it will be related to MFN at all, except for a possible retaliatory move from China should MFN fail [there is always such a possibility.] I suspect retailers like Walmart probably got hit harder b/c of the rising cost. Of course, there is always Thailand and Vietnam etc eager to fill the space.
