Paul Kangus (nightly business report) said INTC's asian supplier,
mainly Japan, is still not fully Y2K compliant.

Gary,

INTC's chips are not fully Y2K compliant.

Really???? Where did you get this information. I find this very hard to believe.

In a bizarre twist, our newest visitor may be thinking of the report out of Intel last week where they believe some of their suppliers in Japan for things like leadframes, I think it was, and other raw materials, are not doing a stellar job in Y2K preparedness. Intel said it could affect their business if they don't pick it up over there. This is right in line with Gerstner Group's ongoing reporting that, outside of the USA, Y2K compliance remedial work is lagging. It in no way implies that Intel chips aren't Y2K compliant, however.

Oh well, a little comedy relief to get away from the chip wars.
