Caxton: Finally, the source for your *GSM is Toast* mantra is now crystal clear. Little did I know you were making an esoteric technical reference all along <ggg>:

Our library client, called toast, is modeled after the Unix compress program. Running toast myspeech will compress the file myspeech, remove it, and collect the result of the compression in a new file called myspeech.gsm, while untoast myspeech will reverse the process. The big difference between toast and compress is that toast loses information with each compression cycle.
