It all depends on who you are targeting as your market... there are many Boomers who have an enormous amount of assets that they would rather entrust, for whatever reason, to a MER or SCH than to an EGRP... this is the reason SCH's base is so large. If someone could post the demographic profile of the average EGRP user it would be very telling... I think a huge chunk of EGRP earnings comes from a very small %age of hyperactive traders... MER is not interested in the hyperactive set: they want Boomers with lots of assets who think they want to dabble online but aren't really sure of themselves... and when the tyros inevitably start losing money trading they will want to race back into the protective arms of Mother MER and her vast broker network.
