One of the things that I find amusing is the assertion that these threads are for fun, and the stock threads are serious. Since day- trading is mostly for suckers, and guys like JLA mostly rely on their brokers anyway, I should think that the stock threads are for fun, rather like going to Vegas. On the other hand, the fate of the nation is serious business. One of the reasons why e- brokerages are in flux is that the day- trading fad has (probably) turned a corner, after horror stories about people losing their shirts...

I tried to get ntbk today but with the egrp telebanc buyout they were bid up. Are you going to go long MER or short or do you think there is anything to play there at all. The only inets that even look resilient today are vert and ivil. Ntbk is up but on takeover spec.
