JF - ebay had another complete system outage over the weekend (second time in May) and extended a huge number of auctions. I'm also wondering what affect that might have on the current auction number.

It also seems to me that the Monday holiday may have an effect - most ebay sellers are accustomed to 7-day auctions and putting stuff up on a Monday would make them miss the weekend peak close period.

Just my thoughts.

eBay auction counts always go down over the weekend and holidays and up during the week.

I mentioned in the latest count update that I was skeptical that the counts had gone up by more than 100,000 on Thursday alone. (That may have been due to a system outage and auctions being extended.)

eBay was very slow for me most of last week. Seems to have gotten a little better over the past day.
