Gorilla stocks aren't 100% immune from big price drops. Look at SAP, which may or may not eventually recover past it's old highs. Even if it does, there was a big opportunity cost. It's not too hard to imagine a news surprise that could cause a discontinuity in stock price even in a gorilla. Since none of us are infallible, there's also the possibility that we will make a mistake in identifying a gorilla.
