The question is: To use sdram with Camino do you have to use the special ASIC chip which converts sdram to drdram protocol? If so, then this would appear to me as a really bad solution since it increased latency and cost. It's more like a disaster avoidance plan since it avoids absolute disaster of not being able to ship at all due to not enough drdrams. But it puts Coppermine at a disadvantage to K7 which seems very solid on sdram-now,drdram-later.

If this is the best that Intel will have then I expect that someone will be wearing Andy Grove's boot mark on their butt.
