I don't think that winter is much to worry about there. They are not much above sea level, it is not the Andes

Actually i wish i hadn't said that about 'scarey language' - read it again and only the 'bonanza' word sticks out, and looking at the grades it would be hard to find another word to use to describe them. I still haven't bought any, but will continue to watch.

The release is easier to read on CCN, and there are links to two claim maps at the top of the page - www2.cdn-news.com

Santa Cruz province is the southernmost in mainland Argentina, from around 46 to 52 degrees south latitude. The Andes aren't so tall there as there are in Jujuy, Salta and Catamarca, and so wouldn't provide the same rain shadow effect at all, i expect. Here's the weather for the city of Santa Cruz, which is on the Atlantic coast - cnnenespanol.com
[nublado = cloudy, soleado = sunny, nieve = snow]

I posted a number of argentino links on the arp thread around the first week of last December, i'll go dig them out later ...... cheers

[edit] - even better, here's Lago Argentino, which should compare to Lago San Martín - cnnenespanol.com
.. there is a San Martín, but the name is common and may exist elsewere in A - cnnenespanol.com
