Dublin, Thank you for the Info. on NWK. I think they have turned the corner judging by the contracts and the stock movement the past month or more. My target is $12.50 and my average cost is greater than the close today. I will hold till then or until something changes my mind. jmho, Thanks again, MarkC and by the way the reason my average cost is so high is because I made a trading error today. I am using Scottrade and no level II so I traded in the dark without the proper tools and it cost me a couple grand today. I will remedy this situation shortly and should have long ago. :-) MarkC

FREMONT, Calif., June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- N.E.T. (NYSE: NWK) today announced the appointment of Hubert "Bert" Whyte as President and CEO, and a member of the Board of Directors, effective immediately.

"Bert Whyte has extensive experience in our industry and a proven record of success," said Hans A. Wolf, Chairman of N.E.T. "He brings the knowledge and leadership skills needed at this time to restore N.E.T. to significant profitable growth. We are extremely fortunate to have recruited someone of Bert's caliber. The entire Board of Directors is pleased and excited that he is heading the N.E.T. team."

Wolf also paid tribute to Joseph J. Francesconi, who served as N.E.T.'s President and CEO since March 1994. "Joe made very substantial contributions to N.E.T. during the past five years. We are also grateful that, after announcing his decision to move on in January, he was willing to stay at N.E.T.'s helm until we could name his successor."

Whyte comes to N.E.T. from his most recent position as President and CEO of Advanced Computer Communications (ACC), where he created a new vision and strategy for the company, successfully restructured the organization and almost doubled annual revenues before initiating the acquisition of ACC by Ericsson for approximately $290 million.

Prior to joining ACC, Whyte served as Vice President and General Manager of the Access Products unit of Newbridge Networks Corporation. Under his leadership, his unit's revenues increased over 200%. Whyte's tenure at Newbridge began in 1986, the year Newbridge was founded, as Vice President of Marketing for Europe, Middle East and Africa. He established strategic relationships with Siemens, Alcatel and AT&T (Holland) and assisted in growing annual revenues from zero to over $100 million in Europe.

Earlier in his career, Whyte gained industry experience with British Telecom, Ericsson, Shell Oil, Business Intelligence Services, Mitel and Siemens. Born in England, he received his technical education at Canterbury Technical College. Over the course of his career, he has developed expertise and a deep understanding of customer needs in the field of communication networks for service providers and large enterprises using data, voice, image and newly emerging Internet Protocol (IP) technologies.
