Tim:
We are each responsible for our choices. You have been good enough to share a lot of great info with us so how does someone get off blaming you for the dip in COMS?
I'm still holding because I believe that COMS is near its low.
It has been as high as 51 in the past year and it looks like they have their act together. I will only sell if I get a Fed call
Yup, sometimes I overbuy)
Please don't leave us due to one idiot, whomever he or she is.
When do you go private?
Carole

Hi Tim,

I guess you can't wait for your's and Glenn's password site.

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Gosh, if it was your fault that COMS sold off (since you sold), then why did CS drop also (since you've been pounding the table to buy)? Hmmmmmmm
--------------------------------------------------------------------

For those of you who do not know how I use this thread, here's the way I see it...

Tim, you must have great contacts. When you bring something to the table, to me, it's an eye opener that it's worth researching on my own. Now I may not always see things the way you do, and I occasionally post my thoughts (for example my question on the NXTL debt and the expected WCOM deal). It is everyone's responsibility to do their own DD and, if necessary, post intelligent comments (pro or against your opinion).

Now, if someone is too cheap to pay the SI fees which allow them to post, but yet they read everything to "steal" your insights, it is sad how they have to blame others for their purchasing decisions when they did not take advantage of posting with their own intelligent research.

Tim, I value WHAT you do say, and especially when you emphasize a particular stock. I've watched you and posted with you with ASND, FORE, and other day-to-day stocks. You are an EXCELLENT source for giving the heads up on potential activity.

I thank you for your contributions. As I had mentioned to you once in PM, I only bought 100 shares of JACO because I did not do my own research. However, I too like CS and I'm sticking with it! If you find that something changes with CS, please keep in touch. As the rest of us regulars should. We're in this together. And who knows, a pending deal could fall through.

.... but I guess that would be your fault too <ggg>

Thanks for your input,
MARU CAT

I want to thank you Tim for the excellent job you have done with this thread.
Everyone has to do their own DD and do what they think is right. I for one sold alot of my COMS last week and kept a few because I myself thought CS was a better hold.
People have to start thinking for themselves.
I am not a daytrader I am a position player like yourself.
Hope to see you on the new thread soon.

Tim,

Don't get upset because someone is upset somewhere. I have not read any of the things that you referenced in your last couple of posts, but I knew this time would come. All it was going to take is one really 'good' down day.

Please just keep an open attitude towards the way you trade, and don't take other people's bad trades personally. Anytime a novice trader loses a few bucks, in a trade that he / she thought they were going to make money in, the first thing someone wants to do is lash out at the reason they were in the trade in the first place. Instead of taking full personal responsibility for their own actions, they feel hurt, and want to blame someone else.

I think it is the opposite of "irrational exuberance." Don't take it personally, my friend. You're doing a great job of picking take over candidates and you have an extremely good group of giving people.

Jack

hey man! christ... still havnt problems with the thread folk?

hehe.. im laughing because lately I have been following Anthony at pacific invest. and noticed how people started bashing the hell out of him when one of his 'thoughts' started to go the opposite way.. Mind you, it wasnt a pick of his but simply an opinion..

I dont envy you folks.. you take alot of hard work and offer it to people at no cost, only to have it be thrown in your face if it fails.. Take me for example.. I work 9-6 each day, and simply cannot possibly research 10-20 stocks a night.. so I go to your thread, take your opinions and THAN do research and make my opinions.. you save me about 2 hours a day because of this...

I notice how one day your a hero and the next your a bum.. goes with the turf I guess but I personally think you should go private, and never look back... never..

anyhow- the purpose behind this babbling is to request you include my name in any private messages.. Id greatly appreciate it.. im not around much lately because I got a fantastic job offer and have been a full time employee for the last 3 months (ACK!) but I still position trade, and really REALLY appreciate all you did for me over the last 2 years even tho you might not have realized it.

p.s.- I may lose my temper from time to time, and I even bad mouthed some people like anthony only to realize it was because he traded against me and was right :) but I can honestly say I never had one negative thing to say about you.. never.. your story is very simple- your obviously a very decent human being.. period..

ok ok enough of the ass kissing.. hang in there man!

Is this the post which yawl are talking about?
messages.yahoo.com

If it is then whoop-tidy-doo and a bucket of sh*t.

Obviously these people don't know what it is like to be a trader
with a limited amount of money to trade with.
A trader must keep his/her money working for them.

Why in the world would anyone pay any attention to what is written on the Yahoo boards? Isn't that one of the reasons many of us are on SI, to get away from the filth and bile of Yahoo?

Tim, if this is what you truly want to do, then you will have to learn to let things slide off you. It will not be the last time, and the bigger you get the uglier the insults.

I think you hit the nail on the head with people not doing
their own DD. Everyone is responsible for their own actions,
bottom line. I had purchased FORE long before you had brought
it out on your thread (I feared that I was foolishly buying it
up at 14)...BUT, it was your encouragement and information that
encouraged me to hold half on the takeout possibility. I
bought the AG you recommended because I like what they are
doing. That simple. I didn't buy CS (I know, I know) purely
because I am in an industry where they have not historically
had a good name, and I don't buy stocks I don't like, regardless
of how much I respect someone who thinks they are good buys.
It probably is a good buy...but not for me. If anyone is unhappy
over COMS or any other pick, it should be themselves they are
unhappy with, not you or this thread.

Tim,

You do a great job providing people on the thread with starting points. After that it's up to us. Just remember...don't sweat the small stuff and...

it's all small stuff.

Peace,

Dave
