Re: "Also note, and this is important, the tests were using 100 MHz memory for both processors... while the K7 (unlike any of Intel's line) can use 200 MHz memory as well. That would also boost its performance quite a bit."

I'm a big fan of AMD, but if I were you I'd call it quits arguing with Paul. You really don't know what you're talking about, and I hate to see him get the satisfaction of toying with you.

Re: "I'll give you Quake with the TNT2. If the K7 gets popular, as many think it will, all TNT2 cards have to do is design a driver taking advantage of the K7's 3DNow!. If the test had been run with the everpopular Voodoo3 (best selling graphics card on the market), which is very optimized for 3DNow!, instead of barely lagging PIII, the K7 would have been far ahead."

I know you don't have any data to back up your claims so I won't ask, I'll just compliment you for coming up with a imaginative list of excuses, perfectly on cue.

Benjie - Re: "the K7 would have been far ahead."

DO YOU KNOW WHAT "WOULD HAVE BEEN FAR AHEAD MEANS ?

It means the K7 WASN'T AS FAST AS A K63 !

WOULDA COULDA SHOULDA !

The K7 benchmarks were SLOWER than an equivalently clocked K63 AND a Pentium /// that was run 50 MHz SLOWER !

Get a grip, Benjee !
