Dear Cheryl: supposedly are AOK re Y2K ... GPS (Global Positioning Systems) OPERATIONS system isn't Y2K compliant. Operations is pretty much the brains of the whole system. It keeps satellites where they're supposed to be.

I was planning to get the Magellan for my new Jeep when I get it. It relies on the GPS to tell it where you are and how to get to where you are going. Are you saying that system will not be working? That would be a real disaster for our defense industry I would think. JDN
