No offense intended Betty, but are we experiencing RULE #2?

Message 9893450

A week or two ago it seemed that we had experienced RULE #2 & #3

Somebody made a post about how they heard there was going to be news between Thursday and Monday (they posted it on a Wed.). A week later several unknowns post to the thread stating that they had heard that there was going to be some news and they want to know WHERE IS THE NEWS!

And before and on May 26 we experienced some of RULE #5:

"He may continue feeding the promo guys a string of "promises"
and "good news down the road." (Believe me, this HAS happened to
me!) But, when the news finally arrives, the stock price goes THUD!"

News on May 27 wasn't much better on the stock price.

Of course, all of those rules may not apply to this thread and this stock and some of the similarities are probably merely coincidences.
However, I did find the post interesting reading. What about you?

Purchase Connection Announces New Name at Annual Meeting and Honors Members and Contracted Companies

May 24, 1999
New Orleans, LA — In a bold step, Purchase Connection embarked in a new direction, announcing a new business name at its 11th annual meeting today in New Orleans. Purchase Connection has officially changed its name to InSource Health Services.

During his speech which marked the opening of Purchase Connection's Annual Meeting (PCAM), Ed Gravell, Executive Vice President and General Manager, explained, "With the name InSource Health Services, many doors of opportunity will open for us. As we continue to be (our member's) partner in providing sound business solutions, our services go beyond purchasing -- and our new name reflects this."

Prior to the delivery of the keynote address by James Carville, political consultant, awards were presented to both health-facility members and contracted companies.

The 1999 Commitment Award honors one Purchase Connection member per region that reaches the highest level of contract purchasing commitment. Winners of this year's coveted award were: Critical Care Systems, Glen Ridge Surgery Center, Harris Family Practice, AmSurg, Bethesda Health System, Healix Infusion Therapy, Kaweah Delta Health Care District, Granada Hills Community Hospital, Downey Community Hospital, Innernext (formerly Pacific Homes), and Island Nursing Home. The national award for a corporate group went to HEALTHSOUTH.

Purchase Connection membership votes on which suppliers and distributors receive the Award of Excellence. One company from each contracted program was selected to receive the 1999 Supplier/Distributor Award of Excellence based on demonstrating exceptional service to the members. As Rickey Smith, Senior Vice President of Contracts and Operations said in his presentation, "These six companies have continually displayed creativity and innovation in every aspect of our relationship."

Awards went to: Hill-Rom for Capital Equipment, Sysco Food Services for Dietary, Allegiance Healthcare Corporation for Distribution (Med/Surg), Abbott Diagnostics Division for Laboratory/Radiology/Respiratory, B Braun/McGaw for Medical Surgical, and Abbott Hospital Products Division for Pharmacy (Non wholesalers).

PCAM is produced exclusively for members and vendors of Purchase Connection, one of the nation's leading group purchasing organizations. Next year's meeting will take place in San Antonio, Texas and will henceforth be called ISAM -- for InSource Annual Meeting.
