<--OT-->I don't know Bob,what % of the population owns stock, not all that much if I recall correctly.Another thing I heard is that the average size of the account for the people who are in the market is much less than what some call 'substantial',so I am thinking this bit about stock market is fueling consumer spending could be something cooked up by the pundits. Anyway I don't know what the story really is here.

Prices of memory chips are way down and PC prices are still falling, so some big technology company is almost certain to pre-announce bad earnings in June....If the Fed does move this month, if a big PC maker does warn soon, it will pay to revise all these price points.
