Lucky...MMs know that level II is commonplace now...they have to use diversionary tactics...i.e. selling thru inca, island and other ECNs...this is routine for them now...the game has gotten much harder for them and they have been forced to adapt...nite, for one, has adapted extremely well...they use the ECNs all the time...

there is a smell test that helps...ask yourself when you see msco @ 100 if you think a MM would last very long on the desk if he got stuck with some 100 dollar rbak paper...not a chance...MMs hate to carry inventory, let alone 100 dollar internet ipo paper...

Yes, valuation of Internet stocks is more art than science. Sometimes I think supply and demand (of and for shares, not goods or services) is a better valuation tool than PE or PSR. If all else fails, use the WAG ratio. ;-)
