After they die, how about fire wood? Poplars are necessary around the Peninsulas on the Great Lakes for preventing erosion to a large degree.

But the seedlings floating in the air
are the worst to suck into your mouth while jogging

Anyone know what type of trees they grow in the midwest for fence posts? I used to know. Anyhow, they grow quite fast also. Don't know how tall they get though.
