General Commentary:
Kick'em while their down... Barron's takes its second swipe at Amazon.com (AMZN 105 13/16 -12 15/16)in less than a month... In a piece entitled "Amazon.bomb," publication reiterates view that true worth of stock is closer to $10 than $110. Toss in fears of a Fed rate hike at the June 30th FOMC meeting, rumors Intel (INTC 50 11/16 -3 3/8) is struggling to make its quarter, and tech stocks didn't have a chance today... But, while doomsdayers will use today's inability to follow through (on Friday's move) as opportunity to repeat view that Internet stocks have lost their luster for good, Briefing.com still of the opinion that it's only a matter of time before aggressive buyers wake from their quarterly hibernation... At present, there is simply no conviction in the Net sector, as traders/investors keeping powder dry as they countdown to the quarterly earnings rally... One of the few bright spots in the tech group was Oracle Corp (ORCL 25 15/16 +1 1/8)... Announcement by company of firm earnings date being taken as hint ORCL will not pre-announce negative results this quarter... Although bullish assumptions gave stock a lift today, investment community still concerned about ORCL's ability to make 2nd-half numbers.
