i think you're right. my hope is that the market will have discounted the hike when it occurs. i'd rather see one sooner rather than later. the uncertainty is killing us. plus, the fed gratuitously lowered rates last fall in light of the asian crisis, which crisis has since stabilized. thus, from the fed's standpoint of say nine months ago, or a little farther back (can't count) the current rates are probably too low anyway. so let's just get it over with.
