The CPI will most probably go down, so that takes care of half the equation.

As for the Fed raising rates, the market has already done the Fed's job (as it is supposed to, as the the Fed only sets a target and tries to maintain it by coupon passes and buys) and equity prices have already fallen. Hence a relief rally is possible from the depressed levels if the Fed hikes rates which has no material effect per se other than removing uncertainty, which the market hates more than anything.

What if the Fed lowers? It won't, of course, because of its bias, but what if it does? I wonder ... I wonder ... :-)

Anyone got some tulips?

Let's say:

Of the current Amzn float, there are approx. 275 institutions hold approx. 50M shares; If the largest 5 elephants hold more than 20M, then:
30M/270 = 110,000 shares

The large/old amzn elephants have a very low cost averages; the new ones have few shares. So there will be institutions price support soon.

Unless they are all thinking "exit".
