I think it should be easy for a good creative agency around here to make a terrific add campaign based on the Boston Globe article theme.

Smart:

I was reading the YAHOO thread last nite. There is a *KOOLBREEZE* guy who has a crafty theory which claims that NOVL is trying to *hide* earnings thru the selling of COREL and SANTA CRUZ stock at a loss. I have not followed his claims in detail and I don't know if the selling has been accelerating in the last few quarters........

The Morgan Stanley guy, yes yes the one who was pounding the table when NOVL was @ 25 with a 12 month target of 30, looks better than ever <gggggggggggggg>

All the evidence points to:

a) if anything earnings will continue to surprise to the upside

b) SMART catching appliances could be a key revenue item for an upside earning surprise this year. But so far this is speculation.. Is Agranovich, who has a target of 40, the only one who is betting on this..?

Thanks Peter et al.

<<I'd love to see NOVL get some guts and head to Hollywood or New York City and sit down with some WILD thinking individuals to come up with something like "Rock the Net" or "Putting a human face on the Net". I'd love to see them expand on that last thought -- for too many people, there is no "face" on the internet. Just alot of graphics, text and sound -- lots of sights and sounds but no SOUL.>>

I'm sure y'all have seen the Nortel commercials on TV (CNBC, CNN, etc.) "come together.....right now.....over you" Shows the fellow at a podium singing a popular Beatles song, and it's being cleverly broadcasted live (sound/video) over the internet to web sights, TVs, telephones, and all other kinds of internet telephony connecting devices (Nortel is playing up their networks' strength). We all know Nortel is using NDS. Lets jump into their Nortel commercials Novell!

"I can't get no.....satisfaction..I can't get no...satisfaction..but I try, and I try, and I try...."

NDS-- satisfaction for the internet age

GO!

"Putting a human face on the net..."

Peter,

I think the details have been laid out in this white paper from last month:

novell.com

Quotes include "At Novell, we believe that the network should revolve around you", and

"Networks that know you" (which I think hits the sweet spot of short, catchy, and informative).

Hopefully, these ideas will make it into the Ad campaigns as digitalMe goes public (which I believe is scheduled for this month or next).

Pete

Networks that know you
