Sorry, I have not attempted to derive a Unified Field Theory of ethics. My observation was not intended to carry the entire weight of human history on its inadequate shoulders.

You can pick and chose an almost infinite number of things that do, or seem to, prove me wrong.

I have a better definition of "what works." If a society that "works," never altered, but continued on exactly as it was, it would continue to work, absent outside interference.

Sorry, you're right, abortion, infanticide, and euthanasia probably don't keep a society from "working." Unless people do something stupid, like kill all the girl babies, or all the old people that knew what was really important.
