Serge,

Thank you for showing your complete lack of understanding of Operating Earnings and earnings reports.

I had a tendency to discard your posts in the past.

You've now provided a sufficiently strong argument to not even bother reading them in the first place.

Of all the posters I've read at SI, you've shown the most complete ignorance of how to read an earnings report.

Congratulations. ;-)

Ian.

Serge --

The unusual charges were taken to off-set gains from Tundra.

As for first quarter being lowered, this was done because many analysts didn't lower their expectations after the May 4 announcement and Alan wanted a number he could easily meet.

Anyone bailing now will have endured the worst only to deny his or herself the gains inherent now that the company's turned itself around.

I've raised teen-agers and know patience is a virtue.
