You already can pay bills from your cable box, it's been
a reality for several years now, only it hasn't gone
mainstream for some reason. Kind of like the videophone,
which the public just hasn't gone for, for some reason.
I've had my settop box for over a year now and I love
it. I wouldn't buy stock in co.'s that make mailboxes;
I'm not far from getting rid of mine. Eventually more
and more people will wake up to this possibility. Why
do we need paper and ink mail at all if we can pay bills, bank, and handle correspondence online? No need to hand
out an actual address when you can check your virtual
mailbox anywhere you go.
