Red Oak Hereford Farms, Inc. Reports a Successful Shareholders Meeting and the Election of New Directors
RED OAK, Iowa, June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Directors and Shareholders of Red Oak Hereford Farms, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: HERF - news) met in Red Oak, Iowa on May 25, and May 26, 1999. Holders of 12,158,259 shares of stock were either present or voted through proxy on issues of Company direction and board members. Management presented the state of the Company to an enthusiastic gathering at the Red Oak Country Club.

Reports were received by the Company's auditors, lawyers, and board from the sales staff on the growth of the retail supermarket customer base. They explained that this was due to referrals from current customers, the consistently superior product, and the customer service Red Oak Farms, Inc. provides. A new distributor for the Las Vegas food service and hospitality industries joins in efforts to expand this higher margins segment. Initiatives in further processing and marketing, including ''My Favorite Jerky'' and frozen ground chuck patties are among the deliberate steps toward higher average gross margins and volumes.

Red Oak's management also briefed board members on the import/export plans and the return and expansion of the Korean Export market. European initiatives were also discussed. The two-way concept of gourmet goods from Europe and Red Oak farm's beef jerky and other products to Europe was also discussed.

Red Oak is moving into E-Commerce through the 5th Avenue Channel and other E-Commerce sites, and plans to introduce its own E-Commerce operation at an appropriate time.

The weekly harvest has grown to average 1,000 to 1,200 per week, in spite of the tight capital situation. Many other initiatives have been implemented and will take advantage of funding which management and the board believes is impending.

Mrs. Florentine Van Tiem of Lakewood, Fla., with business and marketing activities in Florida, St. Lucia, and across the hemisphere, was elected to the Board. Mrs. Van Tien shared many of her ideas and insights as to marketing Red Oak's Premium products, including Red Oak Farms Certified Hereford Beef.

Also elected to the Board was Mr. Johan A. Smit of The Netherlands. As managing director of an international steel enterprise, he brings business and financial contacts and sees great promise for the Company's activities in the United States, Europe, and globally. Mrs. Van Tiem and Mr. Smit join Charles Kolbe of Des Moines, Chairman of the Board, John Demer of Milford, Iowa, Dwayne Lewis of Kearney, Neb., Gordon Reisinger of Red Oak, Iowa, Jack Holden of Valier, Mont., and Ron Daggett of Prior Lake, Minn., to form the Red Oak Hereford Farms Board of Directors.
