Greg, Re: It seemed like it took forever for that loser Kurlak to fire himself

Talking about Kurlak, anyone know what is he doing lately ?
I have heard that the Tiger Fund didn't perform too well
lately.

greg, RE: These guys, (and gals), seem to have nine lives when it comes to the process of losing credibility. Question is which one is Dan on?

Given that Niles has been frighteningly accurate in the past six months on both INTC and DELL, he's probably got a few credits on his account right now.

Analysts come out with opinions on Intel just about every day. The only reason that most have no effect and Niles does is directly related to those recent successes. Of course, just because Niles has been right for the last six months has nothing to do with whether he'll be right this time or not. People on the Street just want to believe, they want to think that there's somebody out there with a Holy Grail of analysis, so that they can take the easy way out.

All of our lives, we work under the assumption that what other people do must be right...because they must know something.

Wall Street is probably the worst at this, and it is its continual downfall. Do not lament this. It is why this game can actually be won.

Greg,

It seemed like it took forever for that loser Kurlak to fire himself. These guys,
(and gals), seem to have nine lives when it comes to the process of losing
credibility. Question is which one is Dan on?

I hope that with the internet getting more and more pervasive, giving people the opportunity to do their own research, that these guys become the first dinosaurs of the new millennium. When I consider my own pre-internet stock research, it was an occasional library visit to look at an IBD or First Call's read on a particular stock. Not very good. Now, it's a daily thing, with all the best information available in seconds on the computer. Hey, those alternate to PC internet access devices, that are all the talk lately, can only make the internet all the more pervasive, and maybe hasten the demise of these analysts. When you look at it, how many of them are even qualified to make opinions on high tech stocks, as in, having an education or experience in EE or CS, Material Science, etc.?
