I agree completely, stock bull. My point was that until we get the higher bandwidth (to enable new applications), there is a limited need for faster CPUs and bigger memories. We've sort of plateaued temporarily in our need for more computing power; the single thing most likely to increase our appetites for processing power is more bandwidth. When I can punch a few buttons on my cell phone on my way home from work and get a high-definition, feature-length film downloaded to my house, ready for viewing when I get home, I'll want a 100 GB disk to spool it up. For today's mass-market apps -- web browsing, email, Internet stock trading, buying toys from e-toys, etc. -- who needs one? Bandwidth will drive our appetite for compute power.
