Anyone get Forbes ASAP? Check out May 31 issue, page 17. It's an article on Star Bridge Systems. These are the guys making a supercomputer out of reconfigurable FPGAs. They claim their supercomputer is 3x the speed of IBM's multi-hundred-million-dollar Blue Pacific (remember Deep Blue?), not to mention much smaller (box vs. room) and much less power (hundreds of watts vs. Kilowatts).

If they pull this off, they may create a new market. Check out the picture on page 17. Those 9 FPGAs on the board have an X on them. You can bet they're big expensive parts.

Hated that news release on ALTR today. I would like to see XLNX state that Q2 orders are strong and on-track. Otherwise, we will be held back by investors cautious after Altera's announcement. However, ALTR will be up 5-10% tomorrow as investors figure out that they drastically overreacted and bargain hunters jump in.
