I think the clincher could have been Holloway's agreement to yield the CEO position to Dane in 2 years. I think I'll make sure I'm out before then.

Slider, would you be a buyer of FGI today if it sold of today because of the merger. I can't decide whether to buy HLX or FGI. I like the combined companies and this is the type of deal that might make both stocks go up.

I am not at all surprised by the exchange rate. FGI management has negotiated excellent deals in the past, and I have not heard of any complaints from their partners. Their purchase of a working shipyard for one dollar was especially impressive.

I am concerned about one thing. What will bringing HLX up to FGI's standard of operating and financial excellence cost?? Will it be immediately accretive or will the bottom line get killed for the next year? I suspect the latter due to yard closings/layoffs. Also, are union laborers involved??

Slider, I'm voting for the FGI/HLX highway robbery <g>. I'm looking at PGEI real hard here. I like the almost non-existent long term debt, and the Natural Gas story, moderate insider buying, but by key people, and recent. Care to make a company specific case for buying this one? If you do, cool, if not that's ok too. Is it as simple as "It's the price of Gas, stupid?" <g>

Hey you forgot HOFF! <g>

MEXP?!?

Slider and other MEXP fans: Can somebody please explain to me why everyone is so bullish about MEXP? Any analysis that can be provided (both technical and fundamental) would be greatly appreciated. I ran some numbers earlier this week, and I have to tell you, I wouldn't touch this sucker with a ten-foot pole. The term "walking wounded" doesn't do the situation justice IMHO.

TIA for your comments.

Razor
