Excellent question. The problem of evil is the biggest single weakness in the monotheistic concept of an all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-good God. A lot of very bright people have tried to answer your question, but I personally have never run across a theodicy that I found convincing. Justifying God's ways to man may be a totally impossible task, pace Milton.

So why would you think Cl could do it?
