Interesting.
Our cable provider here(TCI) was dropped in favor of Time Warner...
Racine Journal Times(6-2-99):
"Former TCI general manager Davis Driver said Time Warner would accelerate cable technology improvements, such as cable modems, into the area., 'Those are the types of things that we'll see faster than if we would have stayed with AT&T', he said. AT&T bought TCI.
Not a huge city, but AT&T dropped the ball here!

Dear Tae, AOL's Broadband strategy involves all the Telco's....

This will bring their ADSL reach to just about every Baby Bell nationwide. A major roll out will occur this summer.

For months, AOL has been testing their ADSL service in test markets with selective Telco's such as Bell Atlantic.

The complete roll-out will be broad based and I will look for faster growth for the AOL community. I expect 20 million population in our networks by this summer.

Best Regards,

Hector

Tae Kim, Re: What % of US wired for DSL? Here is a clue, gg:

This is just from Bell Atlantic. 7000000 homes by end of 1999

bell-atl.com

bell-atl.com

Add the 5 other Bells.

Now compare with ~600000 for Cable,

TA

you asked

America Online (AOL) Broad band reach? Anyone know what % of U.S. households
their DSL agreements reach?

The best analyst Mr. Kevin Prigel from www.streetadvisor.com
has spoken again! This time he explored the ATHM/XCIT/AOL future.

Based on his 'virtual advice' I am back to AOL 100% (was 50%), bailed
out ATHM at the opening today.

All large capital internut stocks are up together and down together
most time, to spread among many internut stocks for diversification is really smoke work.

The reason I keeps on coming back to AOL 100% because I could not
trust other stocks.

AOL bailed me out big time last year, I am now allow
AOL to Make me or to Break me this year.

... This time around playing AOL swap, I lost 20 more shares of total
AOL shares ... You must not playing with AOL ...
