The basic fact is that the management of NN paints the best picture they can on every quarter's latest problem. This is to be expected from any management. However, its naive to believe that everything is fine, until and unless real progress is made.

One of the interesting things I found in the recent statements was a reference to implementing SAP at NN and that this was going to help their logistical problems. I have been involved with many SAP installations and can testify that they almost always take longer to implement, cost hugely more to implement and result in severe disruptions during the initial months of operations.

If NN is doing a crash SAP deployment they are living in fantasy land if they think that is going to help straighten things out. Maybe in 18 months it will help or two years...but, not this year.

This statement is misleading as the company has not demonstrated that it has turned itself around. Although they have identified problems in the supply chain side, they haven't solved them yet. Some people are skeptical and are taking a wait and see attitude. Let's stick to the facts.

That was my opinion and certainly wasn't intended to be a statement of fact.

However, with operations problems well on the way to being fixed and the book to bill at 1.2 and WAN packet growth in high double digits and growing as a percentage of total sales, I believe my opinion is based on facts. Yes, the company has to prove it can bring gains to the bottom line. I'm betting they can.
