16 (I think) banks open at the same time in each drdram chip. Therefore you get a
much larger fraction of fast accesses.


Then, does it follow that this feature does make DRDRAM the best for interleaving, and the choice for PCs with multiple sources doing DMA accesses on main memory (like Ten's example of "systems which
have multiple sources all accessing memory concurrently, like the
Coppermine processor, AGP-4x graphics card, and PCI devices
(A3D sound card, network card, disk controller")?
