Big Sky,

I believe it's CorePoint rather than CenterPoint. But that error is a sign of their problems.

Right you are, of course. However, it's a bigger sign that I went brain-dead when I wrote the wrong name. Good thing I have a physical scheduled for later this month. :)

IMO, the biggest argument against this rumor is that IBM doesn't have any successful experience with enterprise software applications. e.g. CorePoint. (I don't think Lotus counts as an enterprise application.)

From everything I've read, Lotus's success after the acquisition is due primarily to the fact that Lou Gerstner let Lotus management run their own show just as they did when they were independent. Perhaps Gerstner agrees with you that IBM had not had any success with enterprise apps and felt Lotus was better off left in Lotus's hands.
