Mr. Mark:
I purchased a CD Laser Lens Cleaner the other day and now am wondering if it is necessary to use it or will it help my CD drive or may cause problems. It is the type that you put a drop of cleaning fluid on the disk and insert in drive. What experience have you had with this?

Saving what you're doing.

This requires more discipline than most people have at their disposal. I'd suggest, for those who have access to the feature, enabling 'timed saves' while they're working.

I have mine set to save my stuff every 10 minutes for word processing and spreadsheets, and 5 minutes for program development. I find the interruption annoying, but losing stuff is far worse.
