w-l-d,

Interesting logic.

Yes, NN has traditionally sold to the telcos and large carriers.

With Alan Lutz, NN has also zeroed in on what needs they weren't meeting with the large ISPs, and now has the products to go after that space. Of course, he had a little help from his marketing and sales folk. Which is another significant transition that NN has made. Terry used to provide the best technology. Alan provides products that meet prospect and customer needs.

So,yes, we can expect to see more sales as a % of total revenues out of the traditional "telco" space.

Re takeover: I hope not. I doubt it, personally. But none of us can really know for sure. They are the only independent company with a significant ATM presence. And there are lots of companies that would love to have it. Fortunately, Terry still owns enough that he can say yes or no.

Ian.

By all accounts, orders from
these firms will be greatly reduced in the final 3 months of this year because of customer concerns about Y2K
.

As it was reported recently by ATT, Bell South any others, they are already ready for 2000.
IBM CEO, after Q results, also saw no concerns about Y2K.
Any new equipment is already ready for 2000.
So, we most likely will not see any disruption at the end of the year.
