But tinted windows are more environmentally friendly. It is better to keep the heat out of the car in the first place than spend gas pumping the heat out by pushing up the air conditioner.

Besides, maybe there are things going on in the back of the Suburban that they don't WANT you to see.

So tinted windows are important to protect both the right to privacy and the environment.

Now don't you feel bad for flaming poor L.L.R. about them?

(Yeah, I bet you do!)

Oh goody. The sharp stick proves efficacious at drawing out the enraged badger... heeheehee

>What the heck is the matter with an old-fashioned station wagon?? IF they don't
make them any more, buy an antique. It will be a lot cheaper than a "Suburban",
which I presume is a SUV trying to pass as a station wagon by appropriating a
typical station wagon name. <

They don't MAKE station wagons anymore! The last one is the Taurus/Sable, and it will not hold six adults and/or baby seats. Not wide enough, and the optional rear bench is a sad joke. The role of station wagon has been usurped by the minivan. And today's minivans will only hold six. Oh yes they say seven or even eight, but the fine print reveals they meant Vietnamese teenagers.
<buy an antique> No <very bad word> way, Lady! <gg>
I require modern engine, suspension and safety technology. Fuel injection. Antilock. Three-point seat belts.

>Your babies may be safe -- but what about other drivers on the road? They may
also be transporting babies!<

Ooooh, good one. I agree that in CA SUV drivers are prone to the distasteful aggression that comes from a false sense of safety. I have piloted Friends' Suburban. It is a truuuuuuck and rides like one. i am most circumspect when easing one such thru traffic. I will say the high vantage assists greatly in predicting traffic patterns among the hyperadrenal Chihuahua machines around the tires. <gg> But I strenuously maintain that I'll be a Good Boy when driving a big beast.

>Otherwise, I might be overcome with an irresistible
attack of road rage. I kid you not.<

Yah, but by the time it matters to me I'll be Bigger. Give it your best shot. The beauty of having a Tank de Ville is that other drivers' road rage is of no consequence - unless they have some variety of Diesel.
But I do sympathize. As long as I I I don't have a Burb, I feel that the roads should be cleared of those mobile blind spots. They interfere with us car drivers.
