Y2K!

If at this point you have a Y2K problem you have serious trouble. The one investment in my company I would not defer is the purchase of EMC Hardware and Professional Services. EMC is known as "Intelligent Storage" for a reason. They will store your data. Big Deal! So will a host of others. What the others cannot do is allow you to accelerate your Y2K testing on "REAL" data. EMC did not make the gains they have by being hype. Look at the clients!!! These are not people who are easily talked into buying what they don't think will help the bottom line!! EMC is a Bottom line company. If I had Y2K problems I can hire the programmers and test crew but how do I give them the data to work with!! Backups & Restores take a lot of time, and you do not test with "simulated" or "kind-of" data. Give me EMC, let me take some data, test & destroy and get back on my horse within an hour (conservative) vs. 48 hours! Oh, and while I'm at it it's nice not to have my Network up at full capacity.

Burned by Bad Solutions! Wish I did not learn the hard way!
