Well thought-out post, Netconductor. I would also postulate that there may be a left coast/right coast phenomenon operating. That is, many of the inets are located in the SF and Seattle areas, and that allows those of us who do the same to be exposed to input we might not otherwise be exposed to. Of course the net is a great leveling factor, as all SI members know. Nevertheless, I am firmly convinced that my work at companies such as Cisco and Oracle has helped me 'get it.'
