LSI Logic Deploys Frequency's Columbus Interconnect Modeler; Timing
Closure Accelerated - BUSINESS WIRE, 11:03 a.m. Jun 07, 1999 Eastern

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 7, 1999--LSI Logic
Corporation and Frequency Technology, Inc. today announced that LSI Logic
will deploy Frequency's Columbus(R) Interconnect Modeler at LSI Logic
Corporation, The System on a Chip Company(R).

The Columbus tool accelerates timing closure for deep-submicron designs.
Frequency is a Santa Clara, Calif.-based supplier of software for designers of
deep-submicron chips.

"A key objective of LSI Logic is to empower our customers with the best
overall design system solution to implement complex system-on-a-chip
products in the shortest possible time," said Ronnie Vasishta, LSI Logic's
director of ASIC Technical Marketing. "The current deployment of
Frequency's Columbus Interconnect Modeler in design centers is an
illustration of this strategy of offering technology that will make our
customers successful."

Columbus is Frequency Technology's solution to help designers implement
chips where interconnect dominates performance. Columbus delivers industry
leading accuracy and unlimited capacity for interconnect modeling, enabling
designers to leverage maximum performance and reduce design iterations.

LSI Logic's strategy is to provide customers with the best solution by
integrating ASIC technology into system-on-a-chip products. As part of that
strategy, the company has consistently deployed both in-house technology
and third-party Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools.

In addition to the new tools from Frequency, LSI Logic maintains extensive
business relationships with EDA industry leaders. LSI Logic's methodology
encompasses many internal tools, third party tools, libraries, and models,
which enable designs that work, right the first time.

"By making a commitment to deploy Columbus in its design centers, LSI
Logic is delivering a great endorsement of our technology," said Alain Labat,
president and CEO of Frequency Technology. "This demonstrates great
progress in our partnership with LSI Logic. We are very proud to be working
with LSI Logic, the market leader when it comes to delivering the most
advanced system-on-a-chip products."

About Frequency

Frequency Technology, Inc., based in Santa Clara, was founded in 1995 to
focus exclusively on developing solutions that improve the performance of
sub-quarter micron designs. Frequency's tools enable designers to accurately
predict the performance of the interconnect.

In 1997, the company launched Columbus(R) Interconnect Modeler, the only
technology which accurately models the interconnect in deep-submicron
designs, and the first of its complete family of electronic design automation
tools based on the company's patented Exact Topological Decomposition
algorithm.

In early 1999, the company introduced Cartier(TM), the industry's first clock
tree analysis solution. Frequency created the SIPPs standard for interconnect
performance which is now sponsored by Si2. The company has raised
venture funding from IVP, Sigma Partners, Menlo Ventures, Atlas Venture,
Sofinnova and Skywood Ventures.

The company is located at Technology Station, 469 El Camino Real, Santa
