My goldbug slip must be showing , though I am simply a precious metals stock trader type, not a pure pedigree <VBG>.
Here is a clue for you, though I cannot say anything with a certainty in this currently even more wacky than normal precious metals market. The XAU is beginning a pretty decent divergence from the gold price. This means one of two things.
Either we are going to have a bull market in gold or "they" are shorting gold and hedging long on the XAU and/or XAU stocks.

Also, if one back tested the charts with pitchforks say for 20 years, I would guess that the steeper pitchforks (down or up) would not hold into long term targets. Gold is a choppy market, fraught with reversals. Must be why I like it so <VBG>.
