Edamo:
I would NOT be selling now if I didnt have to....or if I felt that DELL had bottomed.
My margin account is nearly wiped out: covered calls wont do it because of the sold puts in CMGI now working against me...
My IRA...well I'd rather have some cash in it for the time being.
As for the point in time: how about April, 1999? If I'd sold all then I'd have enough for the 2000 taxes plus great cash for buying.

ed,

Great post.

It goes against every last bit of human psychology, but is absolutely essential to be a winner in this market.

As long as the Street gets rewarded for taking the market or a particular stock down, they'll continue to take money from whomever is willing to give it to them.

Ian.

you are correct. patience! But that food money has no place in today's market (or any day's market).. Like taking that welfare check and buying crack, while the baby goes hungry. We have all gotten way to use to the extended bull market. I was just getting started in 87
almost bailed, never to return. I'm glad I hung on.
