Oh geez neocon better get to the shrink right away to discuss this boarding-school phobia! Well to be honest I don't know anything about those east coast schools and see them as somehow different animals than we have here on the west coast (we don't refer to them as prep schools anyway so the curriculum could be different for all I know).

The public schools in California are the worst in the nation so if you want your kid to get a good education and have any hope of attending a top university then private schools are a must anyway. I know that I developed a love for history and art appreciation that I never had before as a result of the creative curriculum at that school, they really tried to turn kids on to learning. In public schools with 35 kids in a class there aint much real learning going on.

Thats a little hard to believe - they constantly administer the standardized tests in controlled environments and if you fail or do poorly, thats it for you, cheating on SATs really isn't possible.
