During last year's drought, some deer started moving towards town, and I saw at least two traffic accidents caused by hitting deer on the periphery of town...Are there coyotes in Illinois?

Coyotes eat the pets. Yeah my ex was taking care of our older kitty and a coyote got him. I didn't know coyotes ate cats and also didn't know there were any coyotes where he was which was pretty close to town. But then later I saw one once so they are there. Anyway this was an old cat who never went very far and he didn't come home for 3 days... Bob was so mad he took a bb gun and tried to shoot the coyotes. If he had a real gun he would have killed some maybe, that was entirely rage induced, I'm glad he didn't have a gun although I was very upset about my cat.
